reason for step rib?

    What is the reason some people like a stepped rib (one that steps up mid barrel or so) for trap vs the normal rib which starts out slopped, the flat?

    To move your eye down the barrel more than the back of the receiver

    If your eye is on the barrel, the receiver, or any other part of the gun then you have no prayer.

    It's a personal preference, no different than a pink recoil pad.

    without starting an arguement-- every 1/8" change from back to front(muzzle end) will change POI 4inches on a 30yd shot--- flat rib barrels shoot for me just as they say "FLAT"!
