I have a Winchester model 12 black diamond trap gun and the rib has come off the barrel. I'm thinking of having Simmons replace the rib and re-blue the shotgun. Will this hurt the value of the gun and has anyone had a good or bad expense with Simmons?

If it is to the point where you need re-bluing, I think the collector value, if any, is pretty much gone. So it may add some value because it looks better, and is back to original shape. If you are doing it for yourself to shoot it. Go for it.

I had Simmons put a rib, blu, and completely go thru a 28ga. and they did a great job.
