1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

    For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

    Perhaps he could invest 90 seconds and read the simple instructions graciously provided at the top of this forum.

    Since I have owned several of these over the years I would like to know what is rare about it? I had a 30 and a 26 inch boith with fixed chokes and selective triggers. I don't think the trigger was made any other way and I
    don't recall the BSS being made with choke tubes.

    Not trying to be an assh&%$ just not sure why the gun is so rare. Jeff

    Jeff: What is rare about it is that a picture has never been taken of it!

    Jeez, pay attention, you knucklehead! ;)

    The BSS was in production from 1978 to 1987. The BSL (sidelock) is a totally different SXS and was introduced in 1983.

    The early ones had the non-selective triggers. The later ones had selective triggers. Barrel lenghts were 26", 28" and 30" with 30" being the least common. All of them had fixed chokes.

    1. Serial Number beginning with 01001 at the start of each year.

    2. Date of Manufacture is a two digit code

    Z=1

    Y=2

    X=3

    W=4

    V=5

    T=6

    R=7

    P=8

    N=9

    M=0

    3. BSS Type 158=12 ga.Mag. 3", Type 168=20ga. Mag. 3"

    The BSS is a fine shotgun for the money, I've hunted with mine many times.

    Thanks,

    Pat

    I am told that once a recoil pad is added it is no longer original as the stock has to have the curve cut straight to be able to replace the original black plastic plate with a pad. Anyone else have that same understanding?

    to put a pad on this gun you need a 1/4" spacer superglued to the pad base and shape to fit works great just takes alittle time ted

    Another picture of the BSS just because this thread is so long without a picture of one yet. Mine is a 30" also. But it has the ultra rare option of being choked LM/LM JW

    brdslayr,

    Are your LM/LM factory chokes? I see your trigger is silver, is it non-selective?

    Nice BSS!

    Nope, not factory LMLM on my gun. I had em both opened up so I could shoot steel and heavy shot at ducks and not worry about a thing. Never had a long shot I couldn't break well with LM and have run skeet several times. Non selective trigger, so I just concentrate on breaking the target and pull the trigger twice. JW
