So much rain here at home already, We are getting flooded. I don't think we will make it, now. Rt. 11-15 might have areas closed due to it being flooded. Weather forecast says rain and showers, heavy at times thru till Monday night or Tuesday.

Kolarpole, I have it on good authority that you will need an ARK. For a price I have one cheap.

    From the PSSA web site:

    "Wednesday, September 7, 2011 6:13 PM

Unless conditions change drastically, the shoot will be held as scheduled.

Elysburg, PA: THE WESTY HOGANS HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL BE SHOT AS PLANNED. CHECK OUT LOCAL WEATHER REPORT ON THIS PAGE. LOOK TO HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND OF SHOOTING AT THE HISTORIC WESTY HOGANS."

Hey Butch I promise to only wear "normal" Shirts to the Westy so all should be well. This will be my first ever trip to Elysburg so I am looking forward to the experience hope to see you there.

I may throw a Hawaiian shirt or 2 in the bag "just in case" ;o)

The lady manager at the Best Western/Danville told me other shooters had cancelled thier reservations due to the bad rain/flood conditions. I tried to call the grounds w/ no answer & got no response from the Valley Gun Club. I figured they got washed away!! I be there, Hell or (probably) high water.

Just got off the phone with a friend who is in the lower camp ground and said the creek is 3/4 full running fast and Spearville is starting to take on a bit of water, Rt 487 is closed going to Bloomsburg and Catawissa also past the Boyers market you can not get to 61. Do not know about 54 if it is still open from Danville he is going to check that out for us in the morning. May have to come in from the South up 81 to 901 to 54 ??? No reports from shoot management about canceling, but the schools in the area are closed tomorrow and one school held their students and set up to have them spend the night???? Sounds like if your going be sure to take your rubber duckies..

Well as Muzzleblast pronounced on Monday, "When he was young and dumb he would shoot in the rain, now that he is old and dumb, he may not."

I think I may attend the PGCA show at Pittsburgh Mills, sounds like a better plan, indoors!

Have fun everyone and be safe.

Was told that the website is in process of being updated and that the Westy HAS BEEN CANCELLED. We've already called friends enroute to have them turn around and go home.
