Today use to be the day reserved for R.E Lee and Stonewall Jackson. I still remember when in school going over the history of both men. Happy R E Lee and Stonewall Jackson day.

Studying the Civil War is one of my hobbies. Post "War of Northern Agression" the Northern States did whatever they could to stick it in the South's eye. This would appear to be another such degredation of the Southern Culture by the Federal Government.

Auctioneer, that you for further educating this student.

It's very interesting to study both sides of the coin. Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson were great American soldiers well before they fought for the Confederecy. They also conducted their campaigns with far more civility then their Northern counterparts.

    Want to talk WWII?

NJCOP, the north also wanted to put RE Lee on trial for war crimes. They just wanted to do that to rub thing in even more. Lincoln said NO, you will not put Lee on trial for anything. Now its time to heal not reopen wounds.
