Just read an article on American Thinker and Patriot Update, with regard to Obama's statement about gun control during the debate when he went off telepromter. My question is, aren't hand guns already forbidden within city limits in Chicago? If so, why is the president hell bent on eliminating ownership of handguns and 'other' guns, when it doesn't work (if banned only criminals will have guns) and why doesn't the exisiting ban in Chicago end "cheap hand gun" violence in Chicago? Also, Why are handguns "cheap" in Chicago?

    Rhetorical questions with obvious answers.

Gun control is not about decreasing violence although it is always packaged as such. It is about poeple control and expanding the role of government without the possibility of armed resistance.

I don't want to answer, being at risk of being labeled a racist bigoted hater, by some of the racist, bigoted haters on this site.

Sometimes things said matter of factly can be misconstrued as racist or bigoted. This is supposed to be a discussion blog where trapshooters are supposed to be able to discuss with other like minded individuals the thoughts they ponder in all catergories. Some should ask for explainations before they go and label others negatively or keep their suppositions to themselves.

The truth of the matter is that if gun control worked there wouldn't be cheap Chicago hand guns for sale unless they are hot or otherwise issued. Handguns are quite costly in today's economy and by no means cheap so how is it that they are in abundance in Chicago after being banned? And that's only part of it...every weekend there's a tally of the number of people shot in Chigago every weekend so who has the banned guns?

No, what I have learned is if a person is religious and does not accept things he considers as immoral, as mainstream, or if he does not believe the Constitution is a "living document, or that all life is sacred, he is labeled as a racist, bigot, or a hateful racist bigot, a supestitous fool and is not entitled to express his or her views.

Yes and the label, it's the last refuge of the uneducated, uncaring and uninterested and a sure way to end a conversation about anything of importance.

A few sentences of civility and all he!! breaks lose in the way of labels and allegations for lack of anything else to civil discourse about. Narrow minded limited dialogue or no dialogue it seems.
