    Questions about the LDS Church/Romney

The fall comference of the Church will be broadcast Sunday. It starts at 10:00 MST. The talks offered will give you an understanding of the beliefs and standards of the Church. You cand find it on the BYU channel in many cable packages, or on the web at www.lds.org.

Well, nobody watched Muslim info before Obama was elected.

For my understanding, Romney has a history of success.

Obama's history was to vote "present" instead of taking a stand. He also got his first political office by a Chicago style dirty trick.

Vote your beliefs. If you believe in big government controlling most of your daily life, and increased gun control you have my sympathy.

A group of Korean vets arrived at the Toledo, Ohio Airport as part of the "Honor Flight Heros". They had flown to D.C. to visit the Korean War Memorial. As they walked into the airport, standing in the back behind their relatives was Mitt Romney. He personally shook each of their hands and thanked them for their service. No fan fare, no media, no big announcement of his plans for gain or benefit.

It wasn't even on the local news, let alone national news.

Says a lot about a man that would take the time to do that out of his election schedule.

Especially when Obama won't even wear an American Flag lapel pin.

    BTW, Romney was wearing his.

I just quit the LDS church, but were I an American I'd probably vote for Romney, although I think this years election has the weakest pair of candidates I've seen in years. The fact Mitt is LDS to me is irrelevant. The fact that he knows what it means to sign the front side of a check is vastly more important.

The old line about the difference between LDS and LSD is that one's a drug and one's a dope certainly does not seem to fit Mitt Romney.

Mitt's being a Mormon really fades into unimportance when considering our other choice. Bear in mind that a vote for anyone other than Romney is, in reality, a vote for Obama.

I work with several people of the Mormon faith and have found each to be a caring and hard working person. Their devotion to family is to be admired in my opinion as is their devotion to those that attend their church. While raised a Roman Cotholic who still attends mass on a somewhat irregular basis I found nothing about the Mormons I have personally known that would make me hesitate to vote for Romney, if fact what I have seen would make me more strongly support Romney, not the other way around.

I will always pick a man who makes his own money over a man who has always been a ward of the state. Mormans do not believe Jesus is part of the Godhead, neither do followers of Islam. Mormans do not believe in killing anyone who will not convert to their faith. Fill in the blank on your own.

    Leo,
I think you'll find that the Mormons do indeed believe Christ is part of the Godhead--God the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost are very much a part of the teachings.

I have met some Morman people over the years, and I believe they are hard working, family-oriented people. They have built up alot of assets with out the governments help. Some Mormans are famous- Steve Young, quarterback, the Osmond Family to name a couple. I can't think of any famous Muslims. I can say I haven't seen a Muslim woman as good looking as Marie Osmond. But Romney's religious affiliation isn't a concern to me, nor are his tax returns. Compared to what we've had for the last four years, he has my vote. Charlie

Christians are like Ice Cream, lots of different flavored. They all believe in God, not Allah! I'll take the side of Mitt Romney after I've seen what a ragheaded Muslim has done. Always politically correct..... Duane

Rick good point, I think Blade is drinking the Obama koolaid. People that insist on supporting Obama given his record and questionable past would vote for him if he were stark naked having relations with a goat at high noon in Times Square. You just can't fix stupid. PS. Mormons do believe that Jesus is part of the Godhead.

Come on Rick. Romney lived during a draft just like the other Draft Dodgers, Chaney, Rove,Clinton,Nugent, Barbour,Gingrich,Delay,Armey,Hasert etc, etc! You really tried to make a wrong... a right but failed this time. "What if's" don't win crap! The war in Viet Nam, that I fought in, has been complained about for the past almost 45 years. Remember Kent State? Sorry you and gotbass (dumbass) lost this one.

Mormon or Moron--- do we really have a choice????? We have seen the damage Obammy has done in the last four years. I don't think the country could endure another four. We need to put the future of the country above all else! TG

I disagee with Trench,,I feel this Great country can survive another 4yrs. of Obama..So,I'll prepare for that,I've always prepared for the worse scenario. If that doesn't happen,I'll be still better off than I planned.

On the topic of Mormon beliefs,They believe our spirits were all prexisting.Jesus is considered the Good son,not part of the God Head.Satan is considered the bad son.Jesus shows the believers the path back to heaven.

Just remember,USA= freedom of religion, not any specific religion or belief. So it shouldn't matter even though many Christian brothers think otherwise.

    Obama-

    Social Security Number?

    Selective Service Number?

    Nationality?

    Passport authentication?

    College undergraduate record?

    Graduate level record?

    Dissertation?

Remember, The Kenyan could have joined the Army and served his country. Instead, he joined forces with known radical socialists and is still trying to destroy our country from within. He isn't worth the effort to cough up a good lunger.

If you want to find out about the LDS church, why not just attend one some weekend. I grew up around a lot of Mormons, even dated some of their daughters. and found them to be good honorable people, that take care of each other. Of course, there a few ruff ones. Some of the guys I knew were called Jack Mormons by the church, as they only followed the rules they wanted too. Which were dam few.

shot410ga , doubt any outsider would learn much going to a Mormon church. I have a cousin who is Mormon. So much so that her kids were married in Salt Lake City. She won't admit to certain things, like baptising the dead. As for some Mormons following only the"rules they wanted too", that could be any religion.

Joseph Smith, the founder , was a charlatan. A complete fraud. His motivation was polygamy and of course, power, which is the root of all religion. What really bothers me about it is this happened in modern times and is so obvious.
