Size #7 steel shot is in what relation to lead shot size?
How many pellets are in #7 shot compared to lead shot of comparable size,,,,1oz load?

Macd you should get a message to Scott Calhoun. He shoots at a club that requires steel shot and the have loaded a bazillion rounds with it. He's on here a lot. RG

#7 Steel is about an 8-8.5 lead. I throw 1.125 oz volume equivalent of steel which equates to a .74 oz load - 298 pellets +/- AND yes, #7 steel is approved for registered shooting.

We will be bringing our program online later this summer for registering targets using steel ammunition.
