Questions about a Parker VH Shotgun

A buddy of mine has a Parker VH, 12 ga, 30" barrels. It's in good condition. No finish on the receiver, but the barrels still have some bluing on them.

He wants $1200 for it. Is it worth it? Is it safe to shoot modern shells in it.? Maybe 1oz @ 1200fps?

Does it have 2 3/4" chambers?

Where in the line up does the VH fall? It looks like a basic gun.

    Thanks in advance.

I have a VH in 16ga.on an O frame, mfg. date of 1909. I shoot mine with factory Win. #8's and will even shoot a round of trap with her now and then.
Even if it has 2 5/8" chambers, 2 3/4" shells can be shot in it. This question was just brought up at the Parker Shotgun Site.
Enjoy it, shoot it, that's what it was made for.
$1200 is in the ball park if it's not junk.
Here's the site info. if you have questions. I spent $25 and got a factory letter on mine with all the info as to when it was made and what spec's it came from the factory with.
