Does any one know if the 303 has the stock shims that the 390 uses? Also, will a stock of a 390 fit onto a 303? Thanks in advance for your help. JM

The 303 has no stock spacers at the receiver but does have a pretty crude adjustment in the stock that is a dog eared shim that slides over the recoil tube and then is tightened down with the nut. I think there were only three sizes. 55,60,65 on the 303. A 390 stock can be altered to fit a 303 but needs a 390 recoil tube on the 303 receiver to work. About anything can be changed on the 303 and 390 but it usually requires more parts swaping than practical.

the 303 that I have does not have the washer in the back. i had to remove the stock and slightly inlet the area at the back of the receiver and then grind away a slight amount of wood n the back and inside the tube hole to make it fit properly. motordoc

Trap guns had solid stocks with no adjustment washer. Field, skeet and Sporting have the adjustment washers in the rear. None of the 303 models have anything at the stock/receiver junction.

Is it possible on a 301,302 or 303 to shave a hair off the stock on either side to change the cast on or off?

It can be done very easily if you know how to do it. Most stock builders can do it very quickly. Thye would rather not but they can if they are willing to take the time. The important part is to make sure the wood makes contact with the receiver the same all the way around so not to have a tight spot that will crack over time.
