IVE JUST GOT MY NEW(USED)DOUBLES BARRELS AND THEY FIT ON MY RECEIVER, BUT THE FOREARM LEVER WONT CLOSE.

First remove the forend iron from the wood and see if it works. If it doesn't, the barrel lug needs a bit of filing. Please refrain from filing the hook part or the lug will be trash. If you can't make a straight cut with a file on the flat part of the lug best find someone who can!!

Follow Oleolliedawg's advice. Don't force it - you can jam the latching mechanism. That is why you should always try it with the iron off the fore end. I think you need a factory certified gunsmith. Check their web site. Billy

Straight cut with a file. Polish with very fine emory cloth. Attempt to latch. Check rub mark on lug for straightness. Repeat!!

It usually is the back of the lug but not always

Follow TRWs advice- a barrel costing that much isnt worth the aggravation and damage you might do- not to mention time to fix it

I always have had different barrels for my K80s and am mechanically literate. This is why my common sense always told me when putting different barrels on a receiver or having 2 receivers for different barrels always call in the Krieghoff staff.

Now that I am in Germany, I have the luxury if going directly to Ulm...

In fact, I just bought a new sporting barrel and will be in Ulm on Monday having it fit.

They ensure all tolerances are correct at the top latch, clearances with the forarm iron so no problems will occur as well as fit so the extractors work correctly.

Send the gun to Ottsville or to Halk Guns. You will not be sorry.

If the gun does not open more than half way the ejector pad needs a little file work!!

Before seeing off to Ottsville, give Rustblue Gunsmithing in Natick, MA a call. They are Krieghoff Authorized
