    First post here.

I added an adj. recoil pad to my XT Trap yesterday. The stock Browning pad rode too high when I mounted the gun. Had about a half inch above my shoulder. I didn't like that at all.
Anyways, I went out today to see what kind of a difference it made and I couldn't hit squat!
I have been averaging a 97 in singles lately.
    Today I shot an 85.
Conditions were perfect, no wind etc., so I don't have that excuse.
The new pad assembly is a quarter of inch thicker than the stock pad.
So it added a quarter inch to my LOP.

My questions is, could that quarter inch have this dramatic of an effect?
    I'm not sure.
Frankly, I'm wondering if I just had my head up my @$$ today.
I've never shot that bad though, that's why I am wondering.

I would love to hear what some of you think.

Matt - Chances are the adjustment, though slight, changed the way your cheek makes contact with the comb or the position of your cheek on the comb. This is turn could change the gun's POI or the stability of your head (and eye) during swings.

    Thanks for the reply Rollin.
I am going to a registered shoot tomorrow, so I think I will take it off, and revisit this new pad at a later time.
