Now that the deadline for applications to become our new Executive Director has passed, has the EC made their selection and will said person be announced at this years annual meeting?? Curious minds want to know.

We will be interviewing candidates at the Grand in Sparta. The timetable is not yet fixed but I hope to be able to do something like what you ask about soon thereafter.

    Thanks for the quick reply

Whould it be too much to ask, how many applicants there were?

The new Executive Director of the ATA is Jim Thompson who will take over on the first of September. He was introduced to the BOD on Thursday night and I have gotten to know him over the last few days as well. I think he will do an outstanding-plus job.

Jim Thompson is a trapshooter, he is a very level-headed and bright man, and he will do a fine job for the ATA and its members. Let's all give him our support.

Ed, as much as I would like to tell you why I have so much trust in Jim's ability to lead the ATA, biographical announcements such as you request are best handled by the organization itself rather than a single officer of it. Also, since most of what I know comes from employment-application and interview documents which are in every case, in every organization, confidential, I am simply barred from responding. And since I have shredded them, I'd rather not trust my memory anyway.

I'm sure that the ATA website and Trap & Field will soon fill you in with the information you reasonably want; I just can't give it out, that's all.
