    Bob or anyone else,

Can you tell me if installing this new buffer in the Super X is a do-it-yourself job, or should I take it to a gunsmith?
If I can do it myself, do you know where I can buy a new buffer?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Yes, I'd suggest searching this site for buffers.... there was a thread on doing it yourself. You will get a mile of information . Sid Wright and Nuline I believe have buffers.

    Jim,

Thanks again for the advise. I can't believe how much information can be found in old threads on this site. I is better than an encyclopedia on trapshooting.

I think I found all of the information I need, and the websites to go to.

    Much appreciated,
    Jim

You want to get a buffer from Stu Wright (Pickneyville, Illinois) or anyone who has buffers made from modern materials. Stu has the buffers made out of better material than the original ones from Winchester. I have heard that some suppliers of Winchester parts still have the old original buffers in stock.

    DoubleAuto,

Thanks. I found Stu Wright's website on the old threads here, and am planning to call him and order a buffer plus some other parts that are recommended to have on hand.

I appreciate the help and advise.
    Jim
