I have a Jack West stock on my 1100 and it has the old style magazine cap. I have to use a wave washers to keep it tightened, but it keeps getting loose anyway. Can I use the new style cap, and do I get a special magazine spring retainer with teeth to engage it, or is there another part I need?

You can't use the new style cap and magazine spring retainer, unless you can figure out some way to press the tabs into the magazine which hold the retainer in place.

Try putting an extra o-ring on after the forearm and before the cap. Might work better than the wave washer. Mark
