Do any of you know what type of steel PW uses in their reloaders? I noticed a small magnet won't hardly attach itself to the metal. It appears to be very soft at least on the frame and the parts I randomly checked.

The base, platen and tool head are cast aluminum. The dies and shell holders are steel.

The tooling steel is called Leadlloy, or thread/screw steel. I believe they call it 12L14, a very soft, very easily machined steel, but prone to bending.

If a magnet won't stick to what you have, then it should be very obviously a non ferrous metal, such as aluminum - but you'd see this, right?

Leadlloy 12L14 was what I was looking for. Thanks.
