ATA marketing's Nick Aycock and Techpro's Bob Butterworth have collaborated in setting up a valuable new feature on the ATA website

http://www.shootata.com

If you send a PDF or word file to Nick, you can get it up on the main page -for a while - but also on your club's link so people just have to click on the club and it will be right there. I've posted a link above (in website URL) to show how it works, in this case, for the St Charles Sportsmen's Club.

By offering this service, the ATA helps clubs cut down on printing and mailing expenses and reach shooters you might not have on your list anyway. The final plan is to be able to click and get it list of all upcoming shoots and their programs in whatever part of the country interests you.

Full instructions are on the shootata mainpage. Clubs should consider how much faster, easier, and cheaper it will be to publicize a shoot this way, either as the sole method or as part of a mailing plan as well - but this time a "maIling" to everyone. I urge every club to get on board and make use of this new service for our clubs and members.

I'd also like to thank the shooters who suggested this by email, and the two mentioned above, Nick and Bob, for undertaking what turned out to be _a lot_ of work. As with many of the other improvements to the ATA website, this stuff does not happen "by itself" and that's an understatement!

Nice! With the cost of postage these days this should save the clubs some money and it will sure make it easier promote shoots. Now if we link all the club sites to the ATA site and start a linking campaign with all the outdoor and shooting sites on the web you might start to get some serious traffic to the ATA site. It would also be nice to have a section of the site that has photo's of shoots along with the results. Make it interesting and people will keep coming back. The ATA site is really coming along nicely. Is there a link on there to Phil's Kiner blog?

Our thanks to Neil for his posting and linked reference to our Club. We got lucky having the closest shoot date to the debut of this shootata.com website feature. It's a rare treat headlining the ATA website, at least for a couple of days.

This new ATA website feature will give every club a new option for announcing and promoting their shoots. We urge everyone to take advantage of it.

Our Club moved off the standard one page, tri-fold programs and First Class stamps when postage hit 39 cents. With more than 700 entries on our mailing list 24 cents postcards were a bargin. However, postcards cannot carry all the necessary information. We use them to announce the shoot date, the events and anything special about the shoot. But most important of all the postcards refer the reader to our Club's website where the full program is posted with all the usual details. And, a program posted on the website can utilized graphic features and color that would be unaffordable for printed and mailed programs. We also keep a couple of hard copies of the website program at the shoot in case there are any questions about "What does the Program say."

Saving on full page program printing and postage has broaded the reach of our Programs and enabled us to put more money into shoot prizes instead of Kinko's and the Post Office.

Now whether your club has a website or not you can reach just as many people through the use of this shootata.com website feature. Give it a shot......... and e-mail me if I can answer any questions.

Now if we had everyones email address we could just email the program to them.
You could also sell banners on the ATA site to help pay for it's upkeep. You could put Google Adwords. A blog. The more content you put up the more visitors that will find the site.
