we have become a Subaru family. Already have an 08 Forester, now a new 2012 Legacy loaded to the hilt. Pearl white with tan leather!! Living in central PA and going back and forth to VA allot during the year, the active AWD system gives us a real level of comfort and safety. We used to be a two car Honda family...

That's a little car - must get good mileage - where do you put the kids, the dog,the gear, the guns and the ammo? Does it have a trailer hitch?

I'm retired and also own a Subaru 4X4 Forester. Kids are grown and I have no dogs, just target grade shotguns...

How do you like the Forester? I've been thinking of buying one. Any problems?

What's a "target grade" shotgun? I think I might have some, but not sure what that means.

    Great looking car.

Years ago a local Oldsmobile dealer also had Subaru.

I knew the parts manager and bought most of my GM parts there.

One day while picking up parts,I noticed they had a horrible wreck victim along the back fence.(Legacy).

I commented to my friend that people were probably hurt bad or killed.

Nope, he said, walked away with a few scratches.

Evidently they are safe as well.

    Regards.....Gerald

Great minds think alike, Slugo. I also have an '08 Forester and a '10 Legacy 3.6R Limited. Looks just like yours but in silver with black leather. Traded in a Honda on mine, too.

    My sister-in-law bought an '11 Outback 2.5 CVT. http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/104-gen-4-2010-present/

Thinkin' 'bout a Subaru for around town. I'm retired too, but have an 85lb dog and two grandkids. Need some room but my wife wants AWD and good mileage around town. But first I had to pull the plug on this - I think I have some target grade guns and some target grade ammo and this should get most of us to those target grade events. Could have my wife drive a Subaru and pull a small trailer with the EZ-Go on it. Save us a second trip for the cart. Can they do that?

Is Subaru building their vehicles over here in the US or are they totally built in Japan? Just curious if any Americans are building them or the only Americans making any money off them are the dealers and mechanics.

I am not a Subaru salesman but I have owned 5, I speak from experience. One of them I drove for 10 years, passed down to my son who drove it 9 years and now my grandaughter is driving it to college. It has had plugs and a timing belt. 375,000 miles and runs like a champ

yakimaman, she gets 18-19 mpg around town and my local mechanic, the only one I trust, wanted $2000 to fix air conditioner. When she nees "air" she rolls down the window. It is a 2000 , getting old, but it never got good mileage. It is easy to work on and change oil but parts are expensive!

My son lives in Vermont and says everyone there has a Subaru. They get a little snow in Vermont.

Itchybutt, Vermont is full of bunny-huggers.

If I want a small sedan, think I will just Cruz on down to the place I bought my truck - bound to find something with a bowtie on it.
