    They were so worried about a gun that they never gave any consideration how inaccurate it would be with such a short barrel, and imagine the size of the bullets if you can ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    I can almost agree with the Iowa incident, it was live ammunition, but it still just a kid that understand the extremely remote danger. There the parents need to teach the child that you just don't carry around ammunition cause you think its neat.

    In this situation however is just totally pure ignorance and stupidity on the part of the principle. What ammo is he going to put in the little thing if it could take ammo, size 12. I understand a zero tolerance, but for a piece of plastic in the shape of a gun...... duhhhh

    Common sense should apply to case like this.

    My friend gave a Swiss Army knife to her son for a camping trip, the 6 year old left it in his backpack and went to school with it. A call from the principle brings mom to the office, the principle just want to confirm the story she heard from the 6 year old, and gave the knife to mom because she can't hand it over to the kid. That's common sense, even in CA.
