Source Fox News & NRA Legal Counsel 2-19-09: Rep. Kenneth Dunkin, Dem.-Illinois, has intorduced a bill to require gun owners to buy a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy or face loss of your Gun Owner ID card. If you lose your voter ID card then you're subject to felony charges in the "Peoples Republic" of Illinois. Congrats, Illinois, you are becoming a joke with your politicians, political machine and gun laws. If this passes then when will it spread nationwide? Again, why did the ATA locate in Illinois? Personally, I wouldn't spend one dime of mine in that State until it's reformed. This is what's wrong with America (the country I love) because the majority is being ruled by the liberal left. They also said NO ONE offers insurance like this yet. Obama was right, he won't go after our guns, he's going to make it impossible to own one.

And exactly how does losing your voter's ID card make you subject to felony charges, BT-100dc?

If this passes, does it mean you cannot attend the Grand if you don't have $1,000,000 in liability insurance?

It is going to be hell living in a Socialist country. It seems that most Americans don't give a crap about freedom anymore. Their freedom is for sale to the highest bidder. That would be Obama. He has trillions in his pocket and is giving it away like Santa Claus. When I look at what is happening to the country I was born in I want to cry. When I was young this country fought against socialism and communism. Now we are joining them.

Actually, it is a good idea to have a $1,000,000 umbrella policy. If you do not have one, consider it. Accidents happen, and we live in a country that is lawsuit happy.

I think your right. Losing our Christian faith as a country is at the heart of the problem. When the libs took away God and family it left a hole in us as a nation. The government has stepped in to fill the hole. Now you see why communists always abolish religion. Take God away first, lost people will fall for anything.

What mollyone and highflyer said. Their posts have summed it up in it's entirety, the slow but sure political and cultural moral decay. Make no mistake, it's happening. The question is, is it reversible?

Write your congressman/woman and politely express your feelings on this and all antigun legislation. I average two emails or letters a day.

In Illinois, join and support ISRA, they are the voice for us here. Join the IGOLD march in March....at the capitol in Springfield.

The upstate politicians have no clue how many of us there are.

If O-B had any clue, and if he is serious about job creation/salvation, he'd think about how many in the US are employed in one form or another in the firearms industry. Won't rival the auto business but is significant.
