    Promoting Trap Shooting with kids

Our club is hosting some local kids participating in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program. The local newspaper wrote a nice article on the kids and our club (of course the print version referenced "s---t shooting, but I'm getting it corrected).

Arkansas Game and Fish has over 600 kids signed up and working toward the state shoot at Remington Gun Club on June 23rd. All the comments so far have been very positive, both about the program and the Twin Lakes Gun Club. And the kids are having a ball.

The more kids that people get involved at an early age the better chance the sport of trapshooting and clay target shooting in general has to survive ... This also lets the parents see that the people who shoot guns are not really the enemy as a lot of times they are lead to believe ... Red Mountain had so many kids out there one day last year that you never got a chance to shoot if you were there that given day ... The kids involvement keeps them out of trouble a lot of times also which is a good thing for them and their parents ... The kids of today are our leaders of tomorrow and sometimes that can be a scary thought unless they are taught well by the leaders of today ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Nice story John....glad you were able to get it in the paper. We don't see this quite enough.

    Best wishes for your program.
