I just bought a Beretta AL391 so I'm not real familiar with it. When I try to close the breech bolt using the breech bolt release button, the breech bolt won't close all the way. The carrier plate comes up and stops it from closing. Wonder what's causing this?

If it were me, I'd take the thing apart, clean it and make sure something foreign (or domestic) hasn't found its way in there...hint: Take out the trigger group first and reinstall last (hammer cocked) when you're putting everything back together...makes it much easier to get the "tail" lined up with the breech bolt return spring.

Are you trying to ease the bolt forward or just pushing the button and letting it slam forward. If the barrel is on, let it slam.
