    Hi All..

Just wondering how the ATA deside on prize moneys awarded to shooter at the larger shoots.

Some of you may know, I am from Australia and we have just finished our National trap championships.
There has been LOTS of discussion regarding the prize money for this event, particularly the Grade places.
This year our association desided to include "sweeps" or options for each event, the long story short was that if you didnt (a:)want or (b:)understand what these sweeps were,
You basicly received nothing in the way of money for winning or placing 2nd or 3rd in your grade in any event.
There was sponsor prizes/money for the outright winner of each event though.

As you could probly imagine those shooters in the higher grades (AA mainly) had the self belief to enter these sweeps because they have better shot at the win, but as it cascades down the grades to C grade shooters, 90% didnt see the value in paying close to double the nominations(entry price). Therefore in theory a C grader who hasnt paid any sweeps, can win his grade and win absoulutly nothing at our national championships....

My question is, how do the ATA deal with this, do they pay a certain amount of the nomination(entry price) as prize money and the options are "side bets"

    Cheers
    Adam
