primer weight?

    How much does 5000 primers weigh on average?

    Cased 5000, unfired original box. Just trying to figure out rough shipping charges. I have no primers on hand to weigh.

    Shot shell primer weight per 5000:

    Fiocchi 616 = 14.5 lbs.

    Rio G-600 = 14.5 lbs.

    Winchester W209 = 15.0 lbs.

    Remington 209STS = 15.0 lbs

    CCI 209M = 16.5 lbs.

    Federal 209A = 16.5 lbs.

    Tells you something important, doesnt it?

    The hotter primers weigh more as they have more explosive which is a lead compound.

    (assuming the metal body is equal)

    The Hazerdous Materials shipping charges will kill you on primers. This isn't a product best shipped in small quantities, unless you plan to hide them in the middle of a case of wads and forget to tell UPS they're in there.
