Cost of lead today is $.80 per pound. Shot should be under $30 a bag soon. HMB

Offer your club the current going rate....remind them that half a loaf is better than no loaf!

    Colonel -

That is typical of a lot of places. I see the same guys at gun shows still trying to sell CCI primers in the OLD packaging from the mid 90's that they bought really high when the big scare happened. They are still sitting on them hoping that someone will happen buy stupid enough to pay their price. Same guys have the high cap Glock mags they paid $40 dollars for and are still trying to get $50 for them when you can buy them factory new for under $20. Your club is in the same situation. It is best they unload all they have for the current market rate IN YOUR AREA now. Who cares what it is selling for somewhere else. Cut their losses and decide whether they want to keep shot in inventory in a volitile market like we are in now. The longer they wait, the bigger the likely loss will be.

the lead price you see at .80 per lb is not the lead used in making shot. it is for pure, soft lead. when you want the harder lead used in shot it cost more. at .80 per lb would be $20.00 for 25 lbs. them you have all the other cost. shipping the lead to the shot maker, bags, business over head, not to mention making the shot. just another view.

Shyda's is in the central part of PA (add 6% tax).

In Delaware...$33.00 for West Coast magnum (no sales tax).

    Harry, et. al.,

We (usually 4 - 6 persons) get together and place an order through a PA supplier and have it delivered to our Delaware business contact. It's done on a "as need" basis with no set times.

We probably will not make another order until September as we've just received one 2 weeks ago.
