Jim Coons is a friend of mine. I do not have many people that I can call a friend but I would go to wall for Jim. He knows more about triggers than anyone else out there. Trevor Dawe

Jim called me this morning. What a nice fella to talk to.

He wants me to stop in and say "Hi" when I'm in Denver visiting my sis.

A humble gentleman, that's fior sure.

Jim is one of the 'old' breed of machinists who successfully transitioned to the new NC and wireline EDM machines. He spent his working life on jig-borers and jig-grinders that could do work in the .0001" range all day. It is now on to wireline EDM for triggers that put any 'factory' trigger and leaf-spring arrangement to shame. The tolerances and heat-treating specs are beyond precise.

Anyone who owns a Precision Gold trigger truly has a work of art. Quicky

I agree with all the kind words written here. His service is fantasic, and he is suppling to the shooters his knowledge of his product. And he is a excellent trapshooter. I completely recommend his triggers to anyone, high quailty and materials.

Wonder if Jim Coons is any relation to the "Coons" of Travers and Coons, engine builders for Trans Am, Can-Am, shop next to Dick Guldstrand of Corvette racing fame and fabrications? I believe Mr. Coons of Travers and Coons was a "Jim Coons?".....

Prob not. Jim Coons is pretty common name. Just like "Bob Chango"

Oh, my first name is David in actuality. Guess it's just a namesake. Remember the TRACO engines, "TRAvers and COons" which were great engines for racers!

Bet "Average Ed" either knew them or knew of them.

I don't know the answer to Chango's question, but I do know that Jim Coons is a great guy who has a great product. I often deal with Ray Stafford, who sells the triggers/springs when he's at the Dollar, and it is probably no surprise that I think he is tops, too.

Hers is a question for you Precision Trigger Guys, Can these triggers be set to 3 pound pulls? I tried two and they both pulled at over four pounds. Don't tell me to shot a heavier trigger pull. I've been shooting three pounds for forty years and probably close to a million targets. My finger will not pull much over three pounds.

Pick up the phone and call Jim. I do not think anyone should speak for Jim on this site. Trevor Dawe.

I agree with Trevor, call Jim.

My triggers are both release, so I know nothing about their pull triggers.
