What size opening should there be after the pre-crimp? I have been told a little smaller than an eraser on a pencil. Is that correct?

    Thanks

Depends on what loader you are using, on a MEC that is about right, on a PW maybe a little bit tighter.

MEC states pre-crimp opening should be set around pencil eraser size, or a tiny bit smaller, When I used a Hornady loader, they recommended about the same. This seems to work best in all loading I have done for 30 years.

Dillon: 70% closure. Smaller than a pencil eraser.

Thanks guys. I have a P/W. It was a little too open so I adjusted it and have not had time to run any through it.
