I will start........Started the 2010 calender year with Federal Gold Medal Handicaps - 1235fps. They kicked the ^#$! out of me. Now shooting Federal Gold Medal Paper 1200fps-1 1/8 ounce-7.5. Like the reduced recoil so much, I may go to 1145 for everything!

    1 1/8 oz. hard 7 1/2's @ 1250fps.

    Hull: Rem.
    Powder: Green Dot, 21.5 grs.
    Wad: DRV/Fio. primer

It will break them out as far as you can see them with choke.

Winchester AA Super Handicap 7 1/2 sometimes, Winchester AA Heavy Target Load (3-1 1/8-7 1/2) sometimes or a reload that is just a little bit hotter than the Winchester Heavy Target Load. Or, sometimes I shoot something else I happen to have around.

Over many years of practice, I have acquired the skill to miss handicap targets from the 27 with many different loads.

Matt's load is a popular one: I use the same thing except I use the Downrange F-8 copy and a cheddite primer from the 23 yard line.

    MY recipe:
    Hull: Remmington Green/Gold
    Powder: Green Dot 20.4 grns.
Wad: Downrange Windjammer 8 petal clone
    1 1/8th of hard 8's

This load works from the 16 to the fence, and most likely further, but have never shot past the 27.

    Sincerely, Osker Reynolds

Matt... Reloads are STS hull, Cheddite primer, 22gr. REX II, DR Versalite wad, 492gr. Magnum 71/2 shot for the 27 yard line. For new shells, I prefer STS heavy handicap shells with 11/8oz. #71/2 shot. Both are very effective at the 27 yard line, and if I do my part, they will DEFINITELY do theirs.....
