I am bored today so I thought it might be fun to have a poll and see just what factory shell shooters prefer.

What is your favorite factory target load to shoot trap with? And why do you like it over brand X?

I'll go first. My favorite factory target load for trap is the Remington Nitro 27 Handicap load. I like it because it is soft shooting, has enough speed to do the job at all ranges in trap, they pattern very well in my gun compared to Winchester AA Handicap, and they are highly reloadable.

Remington Premier 3dr. 11/8oz 71/2. In my book, the finest handicap shell ever made. Fast, and patterned like a dream. Crushed 27 yard targets like a 16 yarder. You could reload the hull until you were just tired of looking at it because you just couldn't wear it out..... THAT was a serious handicap trap load..... After that would have to be the old Winchester AA Super Handicap black shells. They, too, were a thing of beauty to shoot.... Just my experience... Dan Thome (Trap2)

Winchester paper SUPER TARGET from years(like 25) ago. If they were still being made I could win the 100 g's

Federal Papaers..they smell sooo goood. But if you mean just to break targets..can't beat the silver rockets from Winchester.

Remington Nitro 27s - cause I won a State Handicap championship with them.

Also, if anyone can name a better shell - bring it.

Remington Nitro 27's simply because they work and don't punish you. I have complete confidence in them.

The OLD Winchester AA, heavy 7 1/2s...because I shot a 97, 98, and 99 with them. Might have got a hundred with something else but I doubt it.

Federal or Remington promo loads that are on sale cheap at Mao-Mart.

I don't care for Winchester because I don't trust their inner base.

My best shell was 3 dram 8 1/2 AA's back in the early seventys,375straight.
Next best was the Federal League light 8, 496/500 in a marathon. Wish I could
    still get them.

B&P Competition 2000. Softest shooting shell on the market in my opinion. Quality Italian components but their price is tough to swallow.

I guess it doesn't really matter, since we hear that everything will be going up in price again here soon.

    Shoot well and often.
