Just got back from the grand. What I noticed was the lack of police presence there. I didn't see one state cop over a 2 day period. The other years they were pretty thick. Not even any cop cars parked at the corner at Rt.4. and 18. Just think, with all those people there shooting guns and walking around with them, and without the police to watch us, there was no trouble. John........

Budget cutbacks??? Maybe they realized that with that many guns, you would take care of any bad guys.....

BTW,,,,how was it??? Can't go this year.

After watching the news last night I'd guess they're at the State Fair.

I think they got checking I.D., Realize it is a senior moment.

    Lots here, weather suitable.
Was at the hotel last night in Okawville for supper.
Supper was very good. Nice crowd of shooters.
All is well, wish you were here.
I have met trapshooters.com followers from South Dakota and Illinois so far.

A new Krispy Creme opened in East St. Louis and they are there en masse satisfying their their love for doughnuts and conversing with some of the higher intelects in Illinois.

The police probably read some of the postings on here and thought "these people will be here with guns! Time to leave"......LOL

You could also assume that the last time several thousand people with guns walked through there, General Sherman was in front. Sure that would scare of the locals...

We were there on Saturday and noticed quite a few policemen. It wasn't the usual amount we had seen in the past, but maybe they're starting to realized that civilized humans can have guns and act in an orderly fashion.

Note: the weather was great on Saturday it almost made me want to move back to Illinois, Almost...

FYI - if you enjoy great rootbeer, stop by Buds down past Keith Heeg's Stockworks. He said it was an old family receipe that's his family has served in the US for over a 100 years. If we were there another day, I would have bought some homemade ice cream and made a float...hint refills are only $1 - drink up!

    Enjoy,

With budget cutbacks maybe Officers Glazed and Jellyfilled figured out they better do some actual police work before they get laid off.
