In 1977-79 BT-99 Competions had serial numbers with RR RN and RS, I believe. Does any know if the RR had the highest POI or were they all high shooters. I want to buy the highest shooter. Thanks

I believe the 1976 and 1977 RR and RT models were the high shooters. A 1976 issue of American Shotgunner magazine had a feature article on the then new BT-99 Competition models and they said the POI was designed to shoot 10 inches high at 40 yards. A friend of mine had one and he broke 300 straight with it before his "buddies" said the gun shot too high. LOL; Good Luck on finding one.

RN's are not high shooters. This series were manufactured subsequent to the RR's & RS's. Browning made the correction from the earlier RR high shooters. I can't make a comment on the RS's but I have shot the RN's with a straight stock which shot about a 6" POI (60/40 pattern).

    I think 6" high would be 70/30. 3" high is 60/40, 9" high is 80/20 etc. Joe
