Some do-some don't. The early guns tended to shoot very flat!!

They all seem to be different...no real way to tell except shooting it.

I was told the BT100's were made in three different POI ranges that were dictated by the rib height at the muzzle. They ran from 60/40 to 70/30 to 80/20.

When you buy a bt whether it's 99 or 100 it's a crapshoot as far as poi. That's one gun that should come with an adjustable rib. Bill Wheeler

I would bet they are all the same. If you wear a size 8 hat it will shoot high. If you have a size 5 head it will shoot flat. With an adjustable comb, whatever you want.

They are not all the same! I told you what Browning told me at the Browning booth at Vandalia when they were first introduced!

There are three distinct different POI's for the BT100's. The rear height is all the same and the different heights come at the muzzle end. I use to have a picture of the three when I caught it at a shoot, but a computer crash a couple of years ago caused me to loose the photo. What HD is telling you is the truth.

I checked this out at our club tonight because there were 5 different BT-100's there. The "block" at the end of the barrel that the front sight is mounted on was measured on all 5 and there were 2 different heights. The shorter ones were approximately 1/16 of an inch shorter than the tallers ones. One of the taller ones was on an older BT-100 that had a fixed choke. You learn something new everyday.

My satin BT100 [unported] measured at the end of the barrel, from the outside edge of the barrel to the top of the rib is 5/16". What do others measure?

Hank no you are talking about comparing a choke tube gun to a fixed choke gun, the muzzle of the choke tube gun is larger around, therefore shorter rib base

I had all three they are different.
The one I like is 5/16 shoots for me 70/30
My wifes is 3/8 shoots pretty much 50/50
My stainless which I sold was less can't remember now but i think
it was 3/16 shot 100% high.

If you shoot it long enough it won't matter. After you start shooting 25's consistantly you will sell it, and buy something else. That is just what we do.

What positions are the beads in when stating that with a 5/16" rib height the gun shoots 70/30?

I think by taking the measurement of how tall your rib is off the front of the barrel will get you close to an estimated POI. Because in the end it all determines how you mount your gun and how your eye aligns with the front bead that determines your final POI.
