Love em both because a 97 was my first real small game gun! I do prefer the vent rib even though it is after market! Tom Rhoads

I like Wally's with the jeweled bolt. Both are very nice and I'd be happy with either of them.

we really appreciate the comments- steve will be back from shooting trapshooting & will see this thread--- in all fairness- i better post a picture of the matted "factory" rib, prior to the ventilated rib invention-on MY gun!

Both are very nice and I would gladly own either, but in a very difficult decision, I decided I like the first one just SLIGHTLY more than the second one.

Why waste your money on old guns like those. They were obsolete when the Model 12 was released in 1912.....But, it's your money.

    Yeah, first one for me.

Second looks a little too much like a pimp's gun for such an old classic!
