    Hello:
There is a golf contest at one of the area malls. If i answer these questions correctly, I then get my entry placed in a bowl with the others that answered correctly, and I can get a free golf trip to S. Carolina. So please put on your thinking caps and help me answer these questions.

    1. Do golf balls ever lose compression?

    2. What produces more distance, a hook or a slice?

    3. What college did Jack Nicholas play golf for?

    4. When there is a tie in a PGA tournament, what happens?

    5. What PGA tournament gives the winner a green jacket?

    6. Who places the green jacket on the new winner?

    7. How many clubs can a participant legally use in a PGA tournament?

    8. What is another name for a double eagle?

    9. Who has won the most majors?

    10. When your ball is in a sand trap, is it legal to take a practice swing?

they said most people will not be able to answer all of these correctly. Should you have any time, try to answer these for me.
    thanks,
    Steve Balistreri

    1. Yes

    2. Hook

    3. Not sure, but his name is spelled Nicklaus, not Nicholas.

    5. The Masters

    6. Last year's winner.

    10. Dunno, but I don't think so. I know your club CANNOT touch the sand before you take the shot.

The rest you can probably look up on the internet.

    Double eagle
Also known as an Albatross, a double eagle is where a golfer scores three under par on a hole.

Scott is correct on all accounts. Though you may not need the caveats for number 4 as those are not events hosted by the PGA Tour. They are hosted by the US Golf and Association, and the Royal and Ancient Golf Association respectively. Though the PGA Championship switched to a 3 hole playoff from sudden death in 2000. Again the PGA Championship is hosted by the PGA of America and not the PGA Tour.

#8 on a par 4 would be a hole in one. HMB

If ts.com answers the questions for you, shouldn't one of the posters here get the trip instead of you?
