    Hello:
As I sit here and type I am planning my annual May trip to Las Vegas. I also have Elvis singing on tape, Viva Las Vegas. I always stay at the Venetian hotel and casino, as I have some relatives that work their. I love Las vegas. Every year my wife and I go with my brother and his wife.

We rent a car, take in the sites, after a nice supper, we take our wives to a show. By that time the girls are tired and we take them back to the hotel room and my brother and I go out and have fun to all hours. This is one time a year that if I don't come back until 6am, no problem.

All year long my brother and I save money specifically for this trip. We eat and drink like Henry the Vlll or Charlie Sheen, minus the goddeses. Around 11 pm we will sit outside where the cars and limos pull up, and just watch the high rollers and the old men with their 20 year old escorts on each arm walking into the casino, as that's a show in itself.

I had an earlier thread last year asking if the "Slots of fun" was still in existence and was told it is no longer. I was given names of places to gamble that are in the older section of town where you will have a better chance to win. It is always nice to win, but just being there is relaxing and fun for me.

I have a cousin Vinny who is a pit boss at one of the local casinos and every year I ask him if he can let me win a few hands of Black Jack and he laughs. He always says the samething"hey cous, they have cameras all over this place. They catch us cheating, I will be black balled or worse. You and I can both be planted like a cactus in the desert". I look forward to seeing him each year.

Our wives like to swim and I sit by the pool as the last time I tool a dip, I swear I heard someone yell "harpoon him". What are some sites that some of you may suggest to take our wives? Any suggestions that just my brother and I can go to at night after we take them back to the hotel?
Thank you, Thank you very much,
    Steve Balistreri

If you want to treat the ladies to some great food, try the "Rosewood Grill", 5 star all the way and the food is fantabulous but not cheap ... You'll have to look it up because its on, but off of the strip down near the Mirage ... Try the 3 Lb Lobster, I had one, what a treat ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Do you get the red carpet treatment when you check in with your real name? <;-)

I tried the "Rosewood Grill" once. Good food but like WPT said $$$. My taste buds have changed over the years. I only eat meat about twice a month anymore and when I do it is a hotdog, now that is to die for.

Haven't been back to Vegas since I learned they bulldozed the "Westward Ho". I loved that place, right next door to the "Slots of Fun", and now it is gone? Guess I'll never go back, unless for a trapshoot.

The "Westward Ho" was gaudy, cheap and had the foot long hotdogs, Elvis impersonators, bands at night, free beer.......

I miss the old Vegas. Now it is New York City, Paris, Italy, Egypt. If I want to see those things I would go to the real deal.

Why don't they build a casino and call it Las Vegas, Las Vegas? I want 99cent shrip cocktails, $3 prime rib, keno runners with legs up to their neck, big haired women wearing fur at night even though it is 110 degrees, seeing Shecky Green for a 2 drink min. Peter Barbutti at the Sahara for free at the bar.

Did a search for the "Rosewood Grill" and it came up as restuarant no longer open.

If you like italian food try Battistas Hole in The Wall. It is behind the Flamingo. Wont break the bank and all the house wine you can drink included with the meal. Ken

Bisi, don't give up entirely. Elements of what you discribe still exist in downtown Vegas, the hot dogs and shrimp coctails exist.

Go to lunch out at the Clark County Shooting Park. You do not want to miss seeing a world class facility.

It does not surprise me that the Rosewood Grill would be out of business, they were pricey but well worth it ... There are a lot more changes coming to Vegas before long if the economy don't take a turn around ... I still like to go there and visit my money ... Will be making a shoot or three at Clark County now that Steves is involved, for sure ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Steve, Slots-of-Fun is alive and well. I had a foot long hotdog there in January while we were attending the SHOT Show.
If you like vintage motorcycles take a ride out W Sahara to LV Harley and check out their display, some really rare scooters.

    Cheers,

    George

    Hey Steve,

You and your brother should try the Carnival Bar (the outside bar) at Harrahs.

There is always something crazy going on. The entertainment is good any time of day and the bartenders are very entertaining. You might even find one of those 20 year old "escorts" to sport around with.

    Have fun,

    Snookassassin, Clif Adams

Steve, it's on Las Vegas Blvd S right next to Circus Circus. In fact I think Circus Circus bought them a few years ago. But it's still kickin' and a lot of fun.

    Cheers,

    George

The only need I have for a 20 year old these days are for helping me get out of a chair, or having them dress as a candy striper to serve me lunch and dinner.

I will go to slots of fun now.
    Thanks,

Steve - All the Cirque shows are good. I like "O" and Love. Get the cheap seats above for that's the best view. Have fun!
