There are several indepth analysis available that make a strong case that the Presidential race polling this year is significantly out of line with traditional polling practices. Polling is a very complicated process and small changes in what are called the "internals" can skew the results considerably.

I was having difficulty understanding Obama's polling because on paper he appears the far more attractive candidate and has almost 100% support from the media and is outspending McCain 4-1 yet his numbers have been really less than 6% better than poor old John McCain's.

In fact the new AP poll shows him with just a 1% lead. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93VM4PO0&show_article=1

So I did some research and this answers are out there.

In short guys, the media wants you to feel like we have lost. We haven't and, in fact, things are coming our way. If you are in a swing state like Ohio, PA, VA, NM, NV etc. make sure that you all get out and vote and send the commie home to Kenya.

I have been asking about polls, For one I want to know who the heck are they polling? I have never been polled. If they are not asking registered voters then what does it matter.

you don't want to be polled. Polling is for the likes of Barney Franks!LOL

The only thing that will matter will be your vote for McCain on election day.

PS I also believe polls are asked of the people sitting around long enough to be polled. ie The people who WILL NOT work.

The vote they don't or won't talk about is the shooter/hunter vote. There are like 30 million of us I read. If just 60% of us vote for Palin and the old guy, that's 18 million wise votes, should help a little.

Two other things to remember about polls.

One is "Push Polling". That is where you are asked a series of questions that would normally be considered to only lead to one conclusion and that conclusion is what the "poller" wants. They do not care about your answers. They only want to lead you to believe that the candidate/position they are push polling for is the ONLY answer a "normal, reasonable wise person" would want to happen. This is nothing but yet another form of false political advertising masquerading as a poll.

The other is the poll where someone who you would normally oppose is actually looking for YOUR weak spot. You may oppose that candidate on almost everything but they are trying to find out what positions you most strongly oppose and change their APPARENT position, not to better serve your interests, but to make it appear that your opposition to that candidate can be deflected. In other words, they are trying to find out how to eliminate your opposing position from their rhetoric WITHOUT actually changing their true position. (Personal observation here. Obama seems to be doing exactly this because of many gun owners strong opposition to his documented Illinois Senate voting record on firearms and ammunition.)

If results are ever actually announced (try asking the poller where you can view/read/hear the results of their "poll" and I bet you they won't/can't tell you!) you can be be assured that the results will show their candidate/position is receiving tremendous support. Yea, and pigs have been clocked cruising at Mach 2 at 37,000 feet over Iowa!

So that poll pushing works just towards the Dems? Or Pubs too? Just curious.

    SwannyinMinn,

First off, at least, please read, understand and copy correctly. It is called "PUSH POLLING" not your, incorrect term.

You could also notice that "PUSH POLLING" is mentioned in the first paragraph and is different than "Weakness Polling" mentioned in the second.

Second, any disreputable group, be it politicians, animal rights/anti-hunting groups, pro-abortion, pro-life, anti-gun groups, pro-gun groups (you can think of some of the NRA mailings here, at least if you are a NRA member), eco-greens, and, other such groups can engage in push polling.

I mentioned Obama because I received two such telephone poll questions a couple of months ago and not very long after I noticed a change in both his rhetoric and radio campaign spots. Coincidence? I think not!

Swanny you ignorant piece of shit you owe me an apology!

This is a quote by you. "No make that trailer payment. I'd hate to see you and your daughter and/or wife be homeless."

Up to this point I harbored no ill will towards you. Now you have crossed the line. I am imploring the moderators to remove you from this site.

My wife died in February. If you had anything to do with this site you would have known that. Since you claim to I have to assume that it was a deliberate hurt full statement. Moderators please take out the trash like swanny.
