I do not know who wrote this, but it hits the nail on the head. -------------- “Perception is everything” Like a steady drum-beat over the decades, enemies of the original intent of the United States Constitution have relentlessly driven home the following themes. As Lenin stated and later repeated by Goebbels “A lie told often enough becomes the truth”. In other words, the perception of the below has become ingrained in the minds of ever more Americans to the point that it has become unquestioned, settled and proven truth: 1- Capitalism is unfair 2- Your lifestyle is ruining the planet 3- Guns/personal weaponry are evil and no good can come from them 4- Giant computer databases are good 5- Conservatives hate, liberals love 6- Government is the only thing that can make things ‘fair’ Some examples of the above in modern media, be it newspapers, magazines, radio news, TV programs: 1 (accompanies number 1 above)- Poor people are that way because someone did that to them. The rich are that way because they took the poor’s share. Socialism and communism redistribute wealth, capitalism concentrates wealth. Never mind that America is filled with ‘rags to riches’ stories which should telegraph to everyone that wealth is possible by anyone with the vision and hard work to make it happen. No: Capitalism is unfair. 2- In the 1970’s it was global cooling. In the 90’s it was global warming. Now that both have been thoroughly de-bunked, the headlines have been changed to “Climate Change”. And it’s YOUR FAULT for owning an air-conditioned home, flat-screen TV, computer, 2 cars and 2.5 children. Peasants in rural China live in a hut with a mud floor, ride a bicycle or walk, have no electricity or running water much less a TV. THAT is how the world’s population should live. Small carbon footprint. Zero electricity. Rural medical cares means higher death rate. Eh. Besides, the global elite pushing the above agenda prefer unarmed peasants and fewer of them, as they’re easier to control. 3- The news is still laden with stories of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Example the big year-end Esquire magazine has a cover story of Gabrielle Giffords’ husband, their valiant battle and the 9mm handgun that did this to her, if only guns were banned, etc., etc. Never mind the statistics that for every Gabrielle Giffords, at least four other people’s lives were saved by the legal presence of a gun. How about the stories of night-shift nurses heading home, thwarting muggings, rapes or murders by simply showing their concealed weapons? No. Guns are to blame. Forget the little people out there. Big-city mayors and federal representatives are more important. 4- CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, Hawaii Five-O, various movies and even “24” love to show huge government-compiled centralized databases quickly thwarting crime. What’s the license plate on that suspected getaway car? Easy. We access the city’s thousands of surveillance cameras and using OCR we find the car via license plate, the database tells us the owner, his cell phone gives his whereabouts and his personal profile tells us he’s overdue on his credit cards, his wife filed for divorce last month and he owns 4 firearms. Viewer resonse: 'Wow! I hope MY town has this huge database so I’ll feel safer!' Oh, and the cops are always your friends, always doing the right thing. Tirelessly. 5- Conservatives exclude. Liberals embrace. Close the borders? Hateful. Conservative. Throwing the borders open in a loving and accepting way? Loving. Liberal. After all, white people showed up in North America without passports starting in 1492 or before if you count that nasty Viking Leif Erickson and the REAL native Americans and Mexicans in the southwest welcomed 'us'. Conservatives think test scores, employment qualifications and swearing an oath should mean something. Liberals think test scores are arbitrary based on racist texts and tests. Employment qualifications are racist because they exclude dropouts (too young to know better), ex-cons (victims of an oppressive society) or worrying more about making a profit than having a balanced workforce. Hiring people only based on their productivity potential? Exclusionary. Hateful. Conservative. 6- The free market discriminates against the unmotivated, fuzzy-thinking, emotionally unstable, low IQ, and those who refuse to conform or assimilate into whatever corporate culture that’s doing the hiring. Free enterprise is racist, exclusionary, hateful and the source of all problems. What’s that? Entire countries compete on a global scale? Greece is falling because the entire country resembles the description above? Well, liberals have a perfect answer for that one too: ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT !!! Hey! An idea whose time has truly come. One World Government will solve every problem from micro to macro. Everyone will live in the same size house, ride the same kind of bicycle, get the same small stipend from the government and this will take place THE WORLD OVER. Everything will be ironed out. No more free market imbalances. No more gated communities. No more corporate greed creating the current mess. When the President of the United States bows to leaders of other countries, that is a GOOD START! Oh, and note how many echo zero's wish that he could just "bypass Congress". Yep. At the beginning of the G.W. Bush administration, Esquire magazine wished that Bill Clinton could be elected "President of the World". Don't believe me? http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tim-graham/2005/11/17/esquire-screams-teen-zine-over-bill-clinton-president-world Yep, the drum beat continues and the propaganda machine with behind-the-scenes funding from various and nefarious sources keeps paying for it all. “Perception is everything” “A lie told often enough becomes the truth” “Ignorance is strength” Okay, stepping off the soap-box now.
