I need some help here...I have the Perazzi number rating system chart that is supposed to show the year a gun was produced. My question is this: My MX3 Special receiver is stamped "PU 66997", and the chart does not show a PU designation. Does anyone know what this designation is, and when the gun was produced? Thanks very much.. Dan Thome (Trap2)

You are better off using the date code from the proof house. Its usually a two letter code stamped on the bottom of the mono block.

Dan, my TMX has PU 8xxx and was proofed in 1982 according to the alpha code AI on underside of barrel. I have a universal (fits round or square monoblocs) MX3 single barrel that was proofed in 1993 and is without the PU on the serial number.
