The Board of Directors of Chubb International Shooting Sports, Inc. and Keystone Shooting Park are proud to announce the top medalists from the 2013 Perazzi USA Grand Prix in Olympic Trapshooting, which was hosted this past weekend.

Bradley Beckmann of Cherterfield, Missouri was crowned the Grand Prix Champion and Gold medalist, while Lloyd Litwin of Saskatoon, Canada, garnered the Silver medal and Ian "Drew" Shaw of Sarnia, Canada took the Bronze medal. In a show of force, Beckmann bested the old range record by 5 targets and established a new range record with a 191 x 200.

Just a few days prior to the event, Keystone Shooting Park took delivery of a 182,000 target container from their new sponsors at Eurotarget of Reggiolo, Italy near Verona. The ranges Mattarelli machines weren't even adjusted and the targets performed flawlessly offering large starburst breaks and posting a 0.1% no-bird rate. Overall the scores were 10% higher with the new Sagittario 2000 targets versus our previous vendors product and lowered our no-bird rate from 3.3% to 0.1%. The orange dome is very vibrant and offers a much more visible presentation even in low light and poor weather conditions.

Eurotarget manufactures over 700 million targets a year and is widely respected for their quality and production standards. Eurotarget is also the official clay target supplier to the Italian Shooting Federation (FITAV). KSP is proud to have brought Eurotarget on as a permanent sponsor and we will be hosting the Eurotarget Grand Prix in Olympic Trap at KSP, July 6th & 7th to celebrate our partnership. Most of the ISSF World Cups and World Championships are fired over Eurotargets and this sponsorship now gives our athletes the opportunity to train on the exact same target presentation package that they will face abroad. In addition to thanking Perazzi USA for their continued support, we'd also like to thank our other sponsors, B&P USA and Giacomo Arrighini for his donation of a beautiful leather bound "Giacomo Arrighini Edition" Negrini gun case. It is absolutely beautiful.

In other events, John Wolfington of Wilmington, Delaware won the Perazzi Family Cup, while Ann Jardin of Mexico, New York captured the Silver Medal and Alexander Dupre of Champion, Pennsylvania won the Bronze medal.

Beckmann will be joined by Alexander Dupre, Ann Jardin and 7 other athletes and coaches from the United States that will compete in the Perazzi World Grand Prix in Lonato, Italy next month. The Perazzi World Grand Prix is the largest, most prestigious and lucrative Olympic Trap event in the world attracting over 600 entrants and offering a total prize package of 155,000 Euros ($202,000). The prize package includes a one of a kind Perazzi SCO and 4 MX-2000's, not to mention Perazzi watches, cash and other awards. In addition to competing in the Perazzi event, the athletes will also have the opportunity to receive coaching from Rodolfo "Rudy" Vigano' of the Italian National Team. Rudy worked with several of the athletes as our "Featured Coach" at KSP's High Performance Camp last October and we are now exposing the athletes to the second and more advanced level of instruction during our visit next month. All of these events are in our "Road to Rio" campaign series of training and readiness events as we build a stronger and broader team from the United States leading up to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janerio in 2016. Congratulations to our champions!!!!

    Jack,

It's my pleasure. We have a great bunch of youngsters gracing our range these days with a lot of potential. My home now resembles a "Frat/Sorority" house with all of the athletes coming and going. I'm ready to hang a revolving door on the guest room. LOL!!!! I just got back from buying two queen size air matresses for the bunch coming in to train before we leave for Italy next month. Luckily, the kids don't have the bad backs that us older fellows do, so they don't mind camping out on the air matresses. They view it as a slumber party.

We're tremendously happy in our ability to attract students that want to come here to train and compete from accross the country and Canada. We've only been operational for a little over two years and we are without a doubt making a positive difference. Everybody loves the range and we're now in the height of our season as the range has been in non-stop use since we got back from the Spring Selection Match at Fort Benning on May 22nd. The Eurotargets have been a blessing and the athletes love them as well as we've now only thrown 10 no-birds in 20,000 targets (0.05%) since we changed over on June 5th.

We're taking a really talented group to Italy and we're looking forward to seeing them develop and win medals for the U.S. in both the near and not so distant future. Spread the good word and thanks again for the kind comments!!!!

    Joe,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but the USOC is an important partner to the direct funding of USA Shooting. We're doing our best to affect positive changes to the culture of our sport as seen through the eyes of Americans, as well as institute modern training methods and standards at KSP for the good of our athletes and the sport.

The Italians and the former Com-Bloc countries of Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia are taking their games to another level and we're falling behind. As a point of interest to prove this statement, during the first three World Cups of the season in Acapulco Mexico, Al-Ain United Arab Emirates and Nicosia Cyprus, the Italians put a total of 22 athletes in the finals and won 14 medals. Unfortunately, the U.S. only put 7 athletes in the finals and won 3 medals. Please note that there are 5 shotgun events in each World Cup, so the Italians winning 14 medals is a very impressive 93.33% success rate, while our rate is obviously not up to par with the competition.

So there is a lot of hard work to do along a very broad front to improve these results, but it won't happen over night. I know that we're doing our part to help our athletes learn every facet of the game and assist in developing them into mature, technically, emotionally and spiritually strong world class athletes. This is the whole purpose behind our European Grand Prix training trips each year. I'm confident that these training events will bare fruit for Team USA in the future. Hopefully we can bring about the necessary change in training standards to realize these goals. KEEP THE FAITH!!!!

Please don't forget that it you like what you see at KSP and you agree with our approach, then our 501C3 IRS status will allow you to directly support the athletes that train at KSP without one penny going to administrative expenses. It's important to note that our officers and directors draw no salaries or benefits of any kind from our accounts. You can log onto our website listed above and on the right side of our home page you will see a PayPal link to make a tax deductible donation to our organization.
