Does anyone know the serial number of the P guns when they went to type 4 forend iron? Is it around the 60,000 range. I have a 703XX and it is type 4.
Thanks for the help in advance. Joe Miller

I was looking at an older gun...called Giacomo.

I 'think' they told me the cut-off between type 3 and type 4 was 56,000. Either that or 62,000.

    Sorry I'm not more sure...

I have a forarm iron that is type 3 with a serial number of 520XX.
Must be one that was right at the time of changing over to type 4.
    Thanks for the help,

The Lippard book is not correct. According to him my MX8 #520xx is a 4. It's a type 3. I think they used parts to build guns until they were out of them so there's some "hybrids" out there. Mine included.
