Tap a single blade razor blade into the crack between pad and stock and very caarefully work pad off. If done correctly, does not mark stock. G.E.G.

Use a hair dryer to warm the pad and use your hand to pull up the pad to develop a place to insert the razor blade.

Heat up the pad on the pad, don't ruin the finish on the wood. When it's kind of uncomfortable to touch, pull the pad from the edge, slide a thin blade knife in, watch the angle, don't cut into the wood. Good luck.

    A putty knife works great.

If you heat it, then partially insert your stock wrench and pry down on it, it will loosen the pad from the center out without damaging the edge of the wood.
