Why are some Perazzi shotguns set up to shoot the top barrel first? Is there an advantage to this setup?

When Perazzi came out with the MX-3 it was intended to be less expensive than the MX-8 but retain the feel and quality. The rounded receiver with out the cut outs in the barrel block was simpler to build. Also, since Perazzi triggers were not originally selectible an MX-8 combo gun required two trigger groups. In the MX-3, by firing the top barrel first, only one trigger group was necessary for a trap combo gun. Thus saving the price of a trigger group. Jake

Mike, If I am not mistaken, no porting allowed in bunker trap.
