Perazzi Question

A customer just brought in a Perazzi and told me it is a MX3 Special but there are no markings on the receiver. The only markings on the receiver is the word "Sporting". The receiver is dull chrome or nickel. Anyone help me out here? This is a combo gun and very nice condition. Please email me at esetter5@me.com if you can fill in the blanks on this gun.

I am going to guess that the receiver serial number does not match the barrel serial number (especially the un-single barrel which I think was added later). I think when it was new the gun came as a O/U only and not a combo. "Sporting" was not a trap gun per 'se. Receiver is from the MX family but not including standard MX3. If Steve W. sees this post he will gives a definitive answer. Rick .... Texas

I'd guess it's a MX-3 S receiver with three different barrels fitted. The O/U with side ribs looks to be MX-8 barrels. MX-3-S didn't come with an unsingle from what I've heard. The other set of O/U barrels do look like MT-6 barrels.

I blew up the left side of the receiver picture so I could read it. It says ( Perazzi ) on it only. It's one of the MX series receivers I think.
