I have acquired a Perazzi MX2L O/U in pretty good nick. I intend to have a stock made and use it for doubles. It has leaf springs and a drop out trigger group
like my MX8 but fires the top barrel first. I have reasonable engineering ability and a good workshop and think I might convert it to fire bottom first. Any advice would be appreciated before I attack it.

You'll need parts #157 "Right release".

Or you may buy a selector from Whiz of this forum, fit it yourself if you know what you're doing.

On MX-2, bottom barrel is originally choked tighter than top barrel.

My MX3 has .028 choke in Top barrel and .042 in Bottom barrel and works just great. The recoil is the same in either barrel, so why should I change the firing order ?

You need a different tree - they are available. Part #157: $64.53 from Perazzi, $40 from me.

You can fit it yourself and then heat treat it easily.

Thank to all. The last owner had Briley thin walls installed in both bbls.
I intend to shoot it as is with a new stock and then make up my mind about converting. Whiz I have sent an email.

European pigeon guns shoot top first, because they put heavier shell for second shot in bottom bbl. also top bbl POI might be slightly higher, as birds are likely to be rising. Recoil is less on bottom due to straight line recoil, top bbl is higher in frame and comes up more.
