This is a very nice MX-2000 Perazzi that we just completed. The gun will be shipped on Monday but we wanted to give the owner a little heads up on his new stock. It is Claro with unusual burl grain in the stock. Again lots of little faces in the wood to see. I hope the owner will be pleased with his new stock and my thanks to the crew and Cindy for another outstanding job. Thank you for taking a look.

What are the minimal dimensions that you need on a blank for that particular stock

    Hi Doug,

The blank required for that stock was 2-3/8" thick x 7-1/2" wide at the back and 5-1/2" wide at the grip x 17-1/2" long. Thank you for the inquiry.

It sounds like one should be safe going into a fitting with a 2.5" thick blank for most people then?

Negative pitch or is that an illusion?

Yes it does have negative pitch. That was required to keep the recoil off of the face and straight back into the shoulder. Thank you for the question.

My Perazzi arrived today and the DeVault stock is much better than the on-line pictures indicate. The wood has many subtle grain characteristics that are beautiful. The fit and finish is excellent but the checkering is incredable!!! It is amazing how Cindy maintains straight and parallel lines through the palm swell. I could not be happier!

    Happy Easter Everyone,

    Range Report / Follow-Up

I shot my new Perazzi last weekend for the first time in the Stars and Bars Tournament at the Dixie Trap Club in Montgomery, Al. In singles I ran a 75 straight for a total of 98. Sunday I won doubles in my class. It was so easy I felt like I was stealing!!!

If you have any interest in a custom stock, Dennis DeVault is the guy to make it.

    Stunning work, Dennis.

Your pitch comment confused me. Isn't negative pitch more likely to drive the stock INTO the face?
