I am cleaning a MX 2000 and am trying to remove the extractors. When I depress them I see a round ball shaped object with a hole in the center and figured that is the key but a hex wrench does not fit. Any suggestions? (other than the usual get a K gun :) )

Depress the ejector and pull the round retainers out with a thin piece of wire. Don't let the ejectors, plungers, or springs get away from you.

I use a small strong magnet to lift the dics from the pockets.

i use a broken off round wooden toothpick, perfect size, fits snuggly into the hole.

I found a small magnet as others have stated works best for me. I made a little wooden thing kind of like a balll starter for a muzzle loader to hold the assembly depressed to assembe or disassemble.
