I have just bought a Perazzi MX8 with a 32" flat taper barrel built in 2004.

The barrel is missing the Front Sight. It has a slot where the Front Sight should be--0.525 long x 0.100 wide x 0.110 deep +/-

It looks like the Front Sight may have been glued in???

Does anyone have more info and a Front Sight I can buy?

Also, if glued in, what glue to use?

    Thanks,
    Michael Plaxco 940-367-2463

They weren't glued in, so if it was, someone jury-rigged one in there.

I have the metric replacements for Perazzi barrels.

Thats typical of a sporting barrel intended for the european market. They like a long plastic bead about 1/8" wide and 5/8" long. The barrel probably came here through a English or European importer. Have it filled with black epoxy and redrill for a standard bead. Most competant gunsmiths can do this and you will hardly notice it.

The barrel sounds like an MX-8B barrel with fixed top and choke tube in the bottom. The insert is a plastic insert that snaps into the slot. See above link for similar barrel on MX-1.

Try Lucio in Azusa - Perazzi for an insert.

    Hi Michael

If the rib looks something like this with the groove running back and ending approximately where a mid bead would be it may be one of ours. if you still need a fiber optic just shoot me an email with your address and I will send you some

    Thanks
