    Has anyone been charged the oversize baggage fees for checking in this case on any airline? I believe the airline industry states 62" & this one measures 66.50" Looking at this model & the IM3100 Storm.

    Why even risk it, get the 1700. Unless there is some reason that you need more than 35.75" of interior length.

    I believe the 1700 comes in RIGHT at 62". Anything else and you'll be rolling the dice every time you fly. The IM3100 comes in @ 63". I guess it depends on how friendly you think the counter agent is, but if they're anything like TSA, I think I'd do everything by the book.
