I am 78 and have been using PB powder for 48 years. Now my distributor says he isn't going to carry PB any longer. Now what is an old shooter going to change to that has nearly the same low recoil and cleanliness as PB?

    Bob,

    Try this email: herndonk@sbcglobal.net

It is a reloading supply place, but I can't remember the name of it. The guy on the other end of this email had an 8 lb container of PB. Also you might try Phil at Indiana Gun Club; Gamaliel; or Recobs. I have an unopened 12 lb can, but I don't want to part with it. I love the stuff, especially for 1 ounce loads, its like shooting a 28 guage.

    Good luck, John E.

John E, that sounds like Ken Herndon at J&S in Jackson, CA, AKA bargainammo.com.

Look under Powders, IMR, down near the bottom of the page. The have 8 lbers in stock. Buy two to split the hazmat fee and don't look back. Good luck.

So after 48 years of using PB you are going to quit using it because one guy decides he's not going to carry it?

Bob, keep looking for a PB dealer, it's worth it. If you have ever run a 15 shot string over a chrono back to back with PB and Green Dot, the proof is in the pudding, not withstanding the unburnt chunks of powder in your trigger areas. A dirty barrel is one thing, but powder migration is another. incinerate em!

I looked deeply at the same issue about 5 yrs ago. Came up with the fact, nothing can touch PB for my needs in recoil & patterns. Buy way over what you think you need for the next 5 yrs & leave it to your kids. Pay the shipping/haz fees. In the cost factor of trapshooting expenses, these are minimal. They seem like a lot but really are not. Get some shooters & split a large shipment. Not only targets, gas oil, wear on the car, cost of loads, etc
