For all of you "Pawn Stars" and "American Restoration" fans. The Clark County Shooting Range has become the new backdrop for both shows when any gun related items come into play.

We filmed two shows during this past week, so watch for it in the schedule down the road.

I believe "Pawn Stars" is currently the #1 cable TV program in the U.S.

Steve - Ask them to start a branch at CCSR that deals with modern firearms. That would entertain every NRA member on the planet. The ad revenue would pour in.

They can't on "Pawn Stars" cause they don't have/want an FFL for newer guns. They have mentioned it several times on the show

They can only deal with guns like 1890 and older I believe. I may be wrong on the exact cut off year.

They seem to be busy enough with other stuff, but it seems silly not to have an FFL given the amount of money that can be made on firearms. All they need is one person to deal with the paperwork and such and that's it. No real investment needed.

I'm betting that the Pawn Stars guys are closet liberals....if they did have an FFL, they'd have to deal with Glocks and A/Rs and all that stuff.

And VPR is right...the money would have to be good - every gun I've ever seen in a pawnshop was damn near to full retail, regardless of condition.

If you can make that kind of money, the only reason NOT to is because you don't like guns.

Unless someone has a better explanation....

    Jeff,

They buy, sell and shoot guns all the time. They just choose to deal with the antique guns where no Federal BS is required. Rick(the one owner) is very knowledgeable on guns. I would doubt an anti-gun person would educate themselves on such. Also, several of their friends own guns shops where they have visted and talked guns on several episodes. As for their actual Political beliefs, i have no idea.

Pawn Stars were shooting an AR-15 I think on this mornings show and shooting Water Melons.

    It was interesting.

Chumlee might be on the liberal side but the rest of them are very much not. Not dealing in modern firearms is just a business decision and not an political statement.

If I were running a pawn shop I don't think I would want to deal with a bunch of low end junk guns which may have legal issues either.

Matt, I agree he's pretty up on the old guns...figured that was more a business decision than a real interest. But maybe not.

    I could be wrong.

They would also have to deal with "stolen" guns and how to determine legal ownership. Great show. Fred

There is alot more to it than just getting your ffl's when you are a pawn shop,I have a friend that is in the pawn business and he said at times it's a hassel but with the pawn business it all is,standard ffl does not work if you run a pawn shop at the same location

I just returned from Vegas last week from a friends wedding . While there my wife and I took a 50.00$ cab ride out to the Pawn Stars store . We entered the so-called Pawn shop only to find T-shirts and souvenirs for the show. I talked to one of the guys behind the counter and he stated that at one time the store was an actual Pawn store but no more . The owners / actors you might as well call them that show up one day a week to film . Items are moved into the store to give the appearance of a real working Pawn shop .People stand in line for hours to have researches if their item is selected to be researched for Rick to make him look good . The entire show is scripted !! It is a farse ! Also go to this link on Youtube above post and watch Chum Lee , He is a business man and has a very high IQ ! It takes a genius to play a true moron .

Why does that YouTube video prove him a genious? It's not hard to test or learn to test real Gold from fake. You only need the stone and acids and of course a quick lesson on reading the results. That video didn't show me anything other than the Gold test. Where did you get the whole businessman bit and very high IQ from?

First, I read a Bio on him . Second listen to him speak in the YouTube video .Do you think he sounds a little more articulate there ! Maybe just a little, Hugh ? He plays the fool on the show only for entertainment purposes . His real name is Austin Russel , his salary for the show is a reported $600 thousand per yr. Anyone who makes $600 K to play a fool on TV is a genius in my book. He also works with the comedic writers of the show writtng many of his own lines . He is a gifted comedic writer as well . Remember this show has a script that is to be followed it is not reality . Also my cousin Scott last year was in Vegas and waited two hours in a line to get Chumlee's autograft and had to pay him for it , again gifted business man .

Goozer has the shop part right. What a $hit hole. was not worth the gas to go there. You could be an expert on anything if you had a week to research it.
no more pawn stars for me.
